Shataya Kamilion was born in Portland, OR to humble beginnings. She always beat boxed with her mouth and pounded on tables or walls with pens and pencils to make rhythmic "beats". She also found herself making "mixtapes" of all the hottest rap and R&B songs with her dad's collection of cassettes; Many of them underground. Her mom's collection of old school records is where she fell in love with "oldies". This is when she knew she had a knack for song arrangement and what constituted good music.
After learning what a music producer was and how they contributed to some of her favorite songs, she embarked on a musical journey of self discovery never to return again - Music production was her future.
She attended production school at The International Academy of Design and Technology and learned the technical side of music and bits. Obsessed with learning everything she could about music, she thrived in self-education checking out music and audio books, invested in music gear, and taught herself music theory, which only fueled her desire to master the piano and guitar.
Knowing that music is a never-ending journey, she wanted to gain a more hands-on experience so she decided to go back to school by enrolling in The Los Angeles Recording School in Los Angeles, CA. There she studied advanced music production, advanced music theory, business media and copyright, transmedia, and all of the necessary skills needed to make her mark in the music industry! She has worked side by side with audio professionals while honing her skills and perfecting her craft. She continues to be mentored by some of the most respected professionals in the music industry!
She currently resides in Los Angeles where she has worked on various projects with local artists and will soon be releasing solo projects! She is a part of the Los Angeles Recording School alumni!
